Anyhowtown

The rock band Anyhowtown -- sometimes the name is shortened to AHT by both press and fans -- was formed around 1989 in Toronto, Canada. The group survived into the mid-'90s. Over those years some members stayed for the ride, some left early, and others joined on in time to see little more than the end. Guitarists J. Angus MacDonald and Steve Morris, singer Daphne Diamant, bassist Darren Whalen, and drummer Derek Gassyt all served time with Anyhowtown.

In 1991 the band released its first recording, an independent self-titled cassette. It took them two years to finish a sophomore offering, Trickle Down. In 1994 Anyhowtown dished up its debut CD, Wicked, and then did a re-mastering job on it for the next year. The group also included a couple of extra tracks for fans on the second Wicked, "Surrender" and "White Trash Sex Dream." The album received encouraging press from critics, and plenty of air play. It ended up being named as one of the top selling independent recordings for the time.(allmusic.com)
